Helping You Get Stronger So You Can Live Better. It's Never Too Late!

Real Strength is a safe, friendly and welcoming strength training gym for people of all ages, fitness levels and abilities - with a special focus on the over 55’s.

You might think that strength training is just for young people, gym junkies and bodybuilders, but in truth, lifting weights is beneficial for everyone…even if you’ve never lifted weights before.

We’re not your average gym. There are no machines or mirrors. Instead you’ll find a relaxed space with an eclectic mix of music, lots of celebratory clapping, and many smiling faces...whilst it may look like just fun, there’s some serious life changing things happening at the same time.

START WHERE YOU ARE - USE WHAT YOU HAVE -  DO WHAT YOU CAN

IT'S NEVER TOO LATE!

How do we help you build strength?

At Real Strength we focus on three compound movements: the squat, bench press, and deadlift. These movements work every muscle group in the body and are useful in everyday life, like standing from sitting, lifting a child, gardening and carrying your shopping.

This is an extremely effective and efficient way of training that requires only two sessions per week to see incredible results (under two hours!).

There are many benefits to strength training that can improve your health & quality of life (at any age):

  • Increases muscle strength and ability to tackle physical tasks with ease

  • Improves flexibility, mobility and balance

  • Increases bone density and can help prevent osteoporosis

  • Lowers risk of falls, bone fractures and other injuries

  • Improves memory and cognitive function

  • Boosts mood and reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression

  • Boosts confidence and self-esteem

  • Improves cardiovascular health by reducing blood pressure and cholesterol levels

  • Reduces risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and certain types of cancer.

  • Increases metabolism which can aid in healthy weight management
